Graham Bailey's Wildlife Photography

Graham Bailey - wildlife photographer

Welcome to my website! I am a wildlife photographer based in Oxfordshire, UK, and this site is a showcase of some of my work. It was my interest in wildlife that initially drew me into photography and, as you will see from the images here, that is still the subject I most enjoy photographing.

Amazon tree boa

Since watching David Attenborough programs as a child I have always wanted to visit the rainforest and in 2005 I got the chance. I spent six months working on a conservation research project in the Amazon Rainforest, in Ecuador, and during that time I had the opportunity to photograph many wonderful and exotic species. It was the tree frogs and snakes that really caught my imagination here, but while taking the closer look that macro photography demands, I also gained a new appreciation for the less cute creatures such as the spiders and the bizarre and wonderful bugs, of which there were many in the rainforest.

A few years on and I am now back out in Pavacachi, in the Amazon Rainforest, running expeditions with Earth Sessions. One of our aims is to set up a camera trap program to study the more elusive mammals and in particular the cats. A report of our progress so far can be found here.

Of course I also photograph the wildlife back at my home in the UK. It may not be as glamourous as that of the Amazon but it still has plenty of appeal and will always be special to me because it's what I grew up with.

You can browse a selection of my images from both Ecuador and the UK by visiting the wildlife galleries or if you're a regular visitor you can just check out what's new.

Ultimate frisbee

I also photograph sports, and in particular an exciting new sport that I also play - Ultimate Frisbee. Ultimate is a fast growing, fast paced, team sport played with a Frisbee. You can find out more about it on the UK ultimate site, and see the photos in the sport galleries.

I hope you enjoy the images on this site. If you have any comments or questions about the site, the photos or wildlife photography in general please feel free to email me using the link below.
